Rider
Rider is a beautiful Red Merle male with excellent structure and conformation! He has outstanding breeding and we’re excited to cross him on some of our Boyd Ranch females.
Rider is fun and outgoing, and has a great personality. He likes people, is fearless, and is very loyal to us.

We started Rider on some calves when he was about 6 months old in the arena and he showed a lot of natural instinct. He naturally would go to the heads to take control and also would drive cattle nicely. When he was close to a year old we started using him on some large drives out on the ranch and he really turned on! He loves gathering and driving cattle and has enough drive to put in some long hard days. I love that he can think on his own but will also take direction when needed.
Rider
When Rider was only 8 months old I had him and 3 other dogs, with me to check cattle and waters. I had left him and the other dogs on the UTV and had walked into a pasture between some cattle to check their salt and water. Two cows starting fighting and almost ran me over. All the dogs jumped out of the UTV and ran to protect me but Rider got there first! He stood his ground next to me, between me and the fighting cows, and at that moment I knew he was a perfect Boyd Ranch Dog.

Monkey is a full sister to our Boyd Ranch Hangin Tapadero and is her litter mate. He has a wonderful pedigree, is an amazing cowdog, and has the best disposition.
Monkey is owned by a good Cowboy and friend of ours and has been used to gather wild cattle all over the country. He is an outstanding cowdog and won’t back down from any job asked of him. It’s amazing to watch him work, he can handle tough cattle, but will also slow down and gather pairs. He has worked on our ranch since he was a year old and has gone 100’s of miles gathering cattle on our ranch alone. I can’t even take a guess on how many miles Monkey has traveled, moving cattle over the years….
He is a very loyal dog to his family and has a wonderful mind. If he needs to watch over the kids, he’s on top of it, and is a trustworthy babysitter. He’s also game to entertain them and has competed in costume classes and attended many parties. Monkey will do anything that’s asked of him and is truly a great Aussie!

Buckles
Buckles is a pretty, blue eyed, small standard Aussie and is primarily Slash V bred. Her lines are well known for being great Cowdogs ands she’s no exception!
Buckles is very quick and tenacious on cattle! She has a mind of her own with a lot of natural instinct. She’s a fantastic Ranch type Cowdog because she doesn’t need a lot of commands to get the job done and can think on her own. She’s shown a lot of “cow” since she was just a tiny pup and wanted to work them from day one. She has some incredible moves and is as agile as the come!
Buckles
She is very loyal to her family and is protective of us and her ranch. She loves water more than any dog I’ve ever been around and will swim in the stock tanks even when it’s snowing outside. It’s almost impossible to get a picture of her when she’s not wet! She’s a great dog and friend.

Bosalita

Bosalita is a beautiful Aussie and carries the bloodlines of many of the greats in this breed. In just 4 generations she has fourteen HOF (Hall Of fame) earners in her pedigree and many titled working dogs.

She is an outstanding cowdog and is a true asset on the ranch. She has no fear of a bull on the hook and she can also slow down and bring in small calves. She’s been a breeze to train and is the type of Aussie that listens and learns very quickly.
When she was just under a year old we took her and one of our neutered males (Colt) to help us bring in a couple hundred pairs to the headquarters. Curt and I were horseback and it was just us with the two dogs. As soon as we started gathering cattle a huge rain and lightening storm hit us. Cattle were splitting from the main herd and running for the trees and they were spread out for a good 1/2 mile. It was so loud with the rain hitting and the lightening that we couldn’t be heard above the storm. I was amazed watching Bosalita run and fetching cattle and bringing them back to the drive all on her own. We were all working hard trying to get the cattle moved and nothing was said to each other or the dogs until we got ALL of the cattle to the headquarters. I was so proud of her and of course Colt too, for keeping all the cattle together and not loosing a single one, without any direction from us. What a great Cow pup!
Bosalita has a good disposition and is good with strangers (if we tell her they are ok) but she will protect us if she feels we’re being threatened.

Cheyenne
Cheyenne was born here at Boyd Ranch and she has matured into the dog I was hoping she would be! She is a beautiful girl and is the perfect cross between Latigo and Chappy with Hangin Tree and Crown Point lines.
She’s great on cattle and loves to work them and is incredibly easy to train and always DSCN0260wants to please us. She started going out horseback with us as a small pup and started moving cattle with her mom Chappy when she was very young. She’s always had a mature mind and it amazed me how she picks up anything she’s taught and retains it. She’ll go to the heads or heels as needed and reads cattle well.
Cheyenne is also a great all around companion! She’s calm but has plenty of drive when working and is happy doing anything with us. She loves riding on the 4wheeler and hanging out with us at the barn. Her full siblings are also excelling in herding, and have titled in Conformation and Obedience. Some are now moving into Rally and Agility. She is good with strangers and has a great disposition. We absolutely love our Cheyenne!

Cowgirl
Cowgirl arrived here when she was an adorable 3 month old pup from Twin Oaks in California. She has matured into a beautiful Aussie and we’re very happy to have her here.

We started her on cattle when she was about 6 months old and she had a lot of natural cow sense. She has continued to progress into a handy Ranch cowdog. Cowgirl has a lot of eye for an Aussie and is a quite worker. She thinks before reacting and excels atmoving pairs.
Cowgirl has medium drive and is happy spending the day pushing cattle on the ranch or hanging with us fixing fence. She’s very easy to get along with.

I’ve always thought of Cowgirl as having an old soul. She sometimes looks at me as if she knows what I’m saying to her and as if she’s heard it all before…

Nettles was born here at Boyd Ranch, her sire is Bronc and her dam is Stirrup. Nettles is a gorgeous Black Tri with brilliant blue eyes and an impressive pedigree! She is a 3/4 sister to Boyd Ranch Cowpuncher.

Nettles
She is a great cow dog with a fantastic work ethic and will work all day. She will hit heads if needed and drives cattle well, is extremely fast and quick, and no cow could ever out run her! She can flatten down like a pancake and is good at avoiding a cows kick.
Nettles is a sweet girl and is easy to live with. She is loyal to the family and gets along well within the dog pack. She is as athletic as they come and could have been an excellent agility dog but she’s been too busy here, using those moves working cattle….

Cinchy
She is great on stock and is very strong on the heads but will also drive cattle well. She has a good sense of group and loves to work! She had a full time job here gathering and driving cattle before she was a year old.
Cinchy has a fantastic disposition, is good with visitors, but is still a loyal dog to her family.
I had Cinchy with me in the cattle pens, when she was just 3 months old. I was opening some gates and getting ready to work some of the older dogs on some calves in the pens. Cinchy ran into the pen and held up the calves on one end of the pen. I snapped a picture of her as I was walking in to pick her up, I think she was showing me she was big enough to work too! She had to wait a few months for that…

Cowpuncher

Cowpuncher was raised here at Boyd Ranch, he is by our sire Rising Sun Adam Bomb “Bronc” and out of our dam Boyd Ranch Hangin Tapadero. He is a very handsome Aussie, with two brilliant blue eyes, and perfect structure.

We started him on some gentle calves when he was about 6 months old and were thrilled with his natural ability on cattle. He has continued to progress and is a super cowdog, with a lot of natural ability, very brave, will think on his own, but is biddable too. He loves to hit heads, keep his cattle in control, and has a great sense of group.

Cowpuncher has a sweet but guardian type personality and is very loyal to our family. I love that he watches over us and our property, and that he won’t welcome strangers, until they’ve earned his trust. He loves all the puppies and likes to play and to be with them, which is very rare for an adult male dog!
